Dumbrăvița Planting

The area of 10 hectares on which the planting action took place is administered by the Măieruș Forest Management. The forest area was deforested 60 years ago to expand pastures. The land use was changed back to forest and the village hall planted 16 hectares of sessile oak and ash in 2016-2017.

About 50,000 seedlings of cherry, maple and ash have been planted. The Măieruș Forestry Management will supervise the completion and maintenance until 2023 in order to ensure the complete regeneration of the replanted forest.

On April 14th, 2018, more than 200 volunteers from Măieruș Forest Management, the local community and from the Holzindustrie Schweighofer factories contributed to the planting.
