In 2012, a whole mountain slope has been affected by fire, and the surface has returned to Borsa City Hall, which lacked the financial resources for the necessary works. The area is in the Maramureş Mountains Natural Park, and in the valley, there is a tailings pond from a former mining operation.
At the end of April 2018, 40,000 spruce and pine seedlings have been planted. Unfortunately, in the period 6-9 May 2018, the plantation was almost completely destroyed by a fire, which has affected dozens of hectares of forest fund.
