Tomorrow’s Forest, 1 Year later: What we have achieved and what we set out to do next
As you already know, the beginning is always the hardest, but, once you started, all things are moving in the right direction. This is also the case for our Tomorrow’s Forest project, which, after its debut, has started to deliver great results. And you do not even imagine how glad we are about it.
The first planting took place in November last year, at Poieni-Solca, in Suceava County. Although the world has responded favorably since then to our actions and the planting has been a real success, the true confirmation that we are doing what we have to do came in the spring of this year, when another 7 afforestation actions have earned achievements beyond our most optimistic expectations: hundreds of volunteers, over thirty hectares of wooded land, over 150,000 planted seedlings and many, many smiles and handshakes from the people in those places.
At the beggining we did not imagine the impact will be so great in the communities we visited. Sure, the goal of 1,000,000 seedlings planted in five years and taking care of them until they get strong roots is not easy to accomplish. But we have not imagined that, thanks to you and the other extraordinary people who helped us, everything will go so smoothly.
And this is entirely due to you, forest owners, volunteers, supporters from social networks or members of the Tomorrow’s Forest team. Without the help of every one of you, this project could not have started with the same enthusiasm.
Of course, we are still in the beginning of the works. It is obvious that 150,000 seedlings planted in the first year of the total of 1,000,000 we set ourselves are a good start. At the same time, the responsibility is pressing more and more on our shoulders. This first year forces us to keep the good work going on. And, as the premises show, this will happen with certainty.
Once again, many thanks to all who helped us and we invite you to stay with us from now on. Don’t forget that the best is yet to come and only together we will succeed.
We help, we plant!
